Forest Enhancement

In Lodgepole forests where logging has occurred a primary issue of concern is the return of overly dense regeneration of small diameter trees which reduce variety in ground cover and are not ecologically beneficial on a landscape scale. Forest Health Task Force volunteers thin young seedlings and saplings in order to reduce density and promote more robust and healthy growth.
